Which itinerary to discover South Corsica?

Your South Corsica Itinerary at a Glance

Enjoy a hub-and-spoke circuit for your South Corsica itinerary. Settle in at Perla di Mare and head out each morning to a new destination. One stop per day to discover the South without ever changing accommodation:

  • Day 1: the Aiguilles de Bavella, a stunning visual impact in the mountains.
  • Day 2: Bonifacio, the clifftop citadel at the tip of the island.
  • Day 3: Porto-Vecchio, relaxing on postcard-perfect beaches.
  • Day 4: the Coscione plateau, a wild hike among free-roaming animals.

Day 5: the Cavu, total relaxation in natural rock pools.

Step 1

1. The Aiguilles de Bavella and the Alta Rocca

Located just 51 km from our holiday village in Corsica, the Aiguilles de Bavella are the first must-see stop on this South Corsica itinerary of just under a week. This first stage of your road trip will give you the opportunity to explore the Alta Rocca region and admire its raw, mineral landscapes. Hike to the famous “Trou de la Bombe” and enjoy a swim in the Solenzara river during this stage!

Expert tip: don’t miss a photo stop at the Col de Larone. It’s the iconic snapshot of your week in Corsica!

Step 2

2. Bonifacio and its Limestone Cliffs

Bonifacio is the undisputed highlight of your road trip from our village-holiday in Corsica. The old town defies the void above the sea. Facing the Lavezzi Islands, the scenery is breathtaking. During this stage, we recommend descending the Escalier du Roy d’Aragon and heading out by boat to the caves.

Not to be missed : An ice cream on the harbour before the Pertusato trail. The view over Sardinia is simply stunning!

Step 3

3. The Legendary Beaches of Porto-Vecchio

60 km from our beachside camping in Corsica, a true paradise awaits! Head to Porto-Vecchio for the turquoise highlight of your South Corsica itinerary. Corsican beaches such as Santa Giulia or Cala Rossa rival the Caribbean. Aim for Palombaggia! Its white sand and red rocks are simply unreal. The beach of Tamaricciu boasts an equally spectacular setting.

Our road trip tip : In high season, try to arrive at dawn! The car parks at Palombaggia and Tamaricciu fill up very quickly, and traffic on the coastal road requires patience.

Step 4

4. The Pozzi and the Coscione Plateau

After Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio, head to the Coscione plateau for a truly unique experience on the Island of Beauty. These “pozines” invite you to spend a pastoral day unlike any other. Far from the coast, breathe in the fresh mountain air, a vital pause in this discovery-packed itinerary.

The atmosphere awaiting you : Pigs, horses and cows roaming freely. A journey back in time, far from the crowds of the Corsican coastline!

Step 5

5. The Cavu Valley and its Natural Rock Pools

The Cavu valley brings this wonderful itinerary to a beautiful close. Here, the freshwater is an impressive emerald green, a refreshing alternative to the saltwater. Even with our pool camping in Corsica, these natural pools carved into granite remain a must on your road trip. It’s the ideal spot to mix wild swimming with treetop adventure in the forest.

Our tip : At the end of the day, enjoy dinner at the Perla di Mare restaurant to celebrate this wonderful road trip!
