Must see sites of Ghisonaccia

Inescapable sitesIn the village stands the little white church Saint-Michel, which sports on the ceiling of its nave neo-Byzantine frescoes illustrating biblical scenes. For history buffs, the A Bandera museum traces the military past of Corsica, while the municipal library presents temporary art exhibitions. A reputable market of producers of the country is held every week on the Place de la Mairie. Beaches, immensities of fine sand watched over the summer succeed, including the beach of Vignale, on the edge of the forest of Pinia, which is none other than the conservatory of natural areas of the island, where hides the deer of Corsica among the green oaks. Nearby you can see the vast pond of Urbino, a meeting place for flamingos, gray herons and other rare birds of Ghisonaccia.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1636464338449{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”center bggrey bloctxt” css=”.vc_custom_1636464286892{padding-right: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 30px !important;}”]

Perla di Mare is located in the heart of the Coastal Conservatory of the Eastern Plain. The latter offers a unique protection of the environment. This coastline extends over an area of fifty kilometres between the mouth of the Travu (to the south) and that of Alesani (to the north).

There are 7 intervention sites, namely the mouth of the Travu, the Pinia forest, the Palu and Gradugine ponds, the Urbinu pond, the Del Sale marsh and Terrenzana. The aim is to permanently organise the management of each of the sites, the reception of the public and the improvement of the landscape quality.

The Palu-Gradugine pond is regularly open to fishermen and is a real tool for environmental education. A pathway welcomes those who wish to go to the Palu peninsula.

The Urbinu pond, the second largest pond in Corsica, is the property of the Conservatoire du littoral. In the open air, explanatory panels, interpretation and objects, tell the history and characteristics of the pond. Here, the major challenge is to allow the pond to be exploited in a rational way for fishing and shellfish farming (oysters and shellfish). A redevelopment project is underway to meet the fundamental needs in terms of conservation of the landscape and natural areas as well as new practices, running, mountain biking, Nordic walking, etc.

The mouth of the Travu is a landscape that changes with the seasons and the years. Thanks to the presence of the air base nearby, the coastline has been preserved. Access remains highly restricted during operational periods.

The Marais del Sale is separated from the sea by a sandy lido that was forested with maritime pines, and has been classified as a hunting reserve since 1951. The main objective is to preserve the balance between fresh and salt water.

The pond of Terrenzana is very wild and benefits from a high maquis, exceptional on the eastern coast. Coastal guards maintain the paths and offer thematic visits, especially during the Heritage Days. There is the possibility of seeing throughout the year the “shepherd’s hut” reconstituted by the Conservatoire du littoral thanks to photographs and [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1608124752735{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1475760837749{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/12″ css=”.vc_custom_1533281337693{padding-right: 6px !important;padding-left: 6px !important;}” offset=”vc_col-xs-6″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1608124761991{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1475760871435{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”6/12″ css=”.vc_custom_1475226776635{padding-left: 6px !important;}”][vc_column_text el_class=”center bggrey bloctxt” css=”.vc_custom_1537778309825{margin-bottom: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;padding-left: 40px !important;}”]

land and sea activities

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1475753885392{margin-bottom: 40px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”center bggrey bloctxt” css=”.vc_custom_1537778394170{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 30px !important;}”]

Gastronomy and souvenir shopping

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1475753885392{margin-bottom: 40px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”center bggrey bloctxt” css=”.vc_custom_1537778461023{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-right: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 30px !important;}”]Continue your tour of the island and explore Sari Solenzara, Porto Vecchio, Bonifacio and Bastia, as well as Corsica’s villages, mountains and gastronomy.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1480073591081{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row el_class=”wrap center” css=”.vc_custom_1475246020883{margin-top: 25px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”titlerates”] Campsite Ghisonaccia Pearl […]

View Post
["post-1533","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry

Landscape and nature conservation

Situated to the south of Aleria, adjoining the Urbinu pond, the Pinia forest represents a real jewel for the region as it is the only maritime pine forest on the Corsican coast. The maritime pines are tending to disappear over the next few years due to the arrival of diseases, and for this reason the Conservatoire du littoral is anticipating this phenomenon and setting up clearings that favour other forest species, in this case the oak.
